A group of Gulf-based expatriates are coming together to back a Malayalam film titled Elmer - The Burning Bud. Santhosh Keezhatoor has been cast as the lead in the film which will be shot entirely in Qatar. Gopi Kuttikkol will direct it from his script.

The film will tell the story of children growing up in the Middle East. Master Dev will play a central role along with Santosh. This is the first time that a Malayalam film is being shot entirely in the Middle East. A host of other Gulf-based actors will be part of the film.

Raj Govind, a Gulf-based entrepreneur, originally from Aluva, will be producing it under the banner of Raj Govind Productions.
