Michael Bay in talks for Sony's Black 5

The film revolves around an elite military team equipped with advanced technology

Director Michael Bay is currently in negotiations with Sony to direct their upcoming action movie, Black 5. The film, which revolves around an elite military team equipped with advanced technology, is written by Ehren Kruger, who has worked with Bay at a script level on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Erwin Stoff, who produced Bay's 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, will be producing Black 5 as well.

Bay is currently awaiting the release of his first directorial outside the Transformers series in three years, the Ryan Reynolds-starrer Six Underground for Netflix, while his production venture A Quiet Place 2 is scheduled for a March 20, 2020 release.
