Valmiki delay makes way for Nani’s Gang Leader

CE Features

Director Harish Shankar's upcoming gangster comedy, Valmiki, and Nani's romantic actioner, Gang Leader, were set to lock horns at the box office on September 13.

However, the makers of these films have decided to avert a clash to ensure that one film does not affect the collections of the other. "The producers of the two projects share a good relationship and the producers of Valmiki have thus obliged the request of the other team. While Nani's Gang Leader will release as per schedule, the Varun Tej-starrer has been postponed by a week to September 20," informs a source.

A remake of the Tamil hit JigarthandaValmiki charts the story of an aspiring director who wants to make a gangster film. His attempts to follow and research a gangster turns futile after he discovers a mole in the gang. How he comes out of this fiasco is the crux of the film.

On the other hand, Nani's romantic actioner, Gang Leader, is an anthology of five short stories featuring women from different stages of life.

Directed by Vikram K Kumar, Gang Leader's trailer will be unveiled on August 28 and will be screened in theatres, attached to Prabhas' Saaho prints.
