Child artist Manasvi, who was seen playing Nayanthara's daughter in last year's Imaikkaa Nodigal, will once again team up with the actor for the Rajinikanth starrer Darbar. A source close to the film unit, who confirmed Manasvi's presence in the film, said, "It's said that she will once again play Nayanthara's daughter. The Suttu Pidikka Utharavu actor joined the sets of the film where her first shot was in a song sequence. She, along with her father, actor Kottachi, met Rajinikanth who blessed the young actor."

Darbar, directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Lyca Productions, will be Rajnikanth's 167th film. The first schedule, which was shot extensively in Mumbai, was wrapped up recently and the next schedule is currently underway in Jaipur. Apart from the lead actors, the film also stars Pradeep Kabra, Prateik Babbar, Dalip Tahil, Jatin Sarna, Nivetha Thomas and Yogi Babu. Featuring Rajini in the role of a cop after 25 years, Darbar is scheduled for release on January 9, 2020.
