Malayalam actor Manju Warrier has been rescued after she was stranded on the Himachal Pradesh location of director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan's next film. Also trapped in the area was Sanal, along with the film's small crew.

The team has been filming in Chatra, located roughly 100 km from Manali. Manju had called her brother Madhu Warrier to inform that around 200 people, including the film crew, were stranded in Chatra after the floods made transport and communication in the area difficult. She had also told him that the film crew, which started filming three weeks ago, was running out of food supplies.

A rescue operation was launched after junior foreign minister V Muraleedharan got in touch with Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. Muraleedharan later informed that everyone has been rescued and is being moved to Manali.

The film, which is reportedly titled Kayyatam, is Sanal's follow-up to his recently completed Chola, starring Joju George and Nimisha Sajayan. It was selected to screen at the Venice International Film Festival. Kayyatam marks Sanal's first collaboration with Manju.

Manju's upcoming lineup of films includes Vetrimaran's Asuran (with Dhanush), Santosh Sivan's Jack and Jill, and Priyadarshan's Marakkar (with Mohanlal).
