Kevin Hart and STX are teaming for a superhero comedy titled Night Wolf

Hart is attached to star in and produce the film — a pitch that STX acquired from Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit — which follows a man (Hart) as he meets his future father-in-law for the first time only to discover he is secretly the superhero known as the Night Wolf

Hart's earlier film was The Upside earlier this year. It was previously announced that the actor and his HartBeat banner are developing two new comedy projects: Black Friday, a body-switching comedy, and an untitled international romantic comedy.

"After we acquired Night Wolf, we submitted it to Kevin Hart and the team at HartBeat, hoping they would love it as much as we did. It is a big, broad comedy, and the idea is great fun and perfectly matched with Kevin's comedic talent," STXfilms chairman Adam Fogelson said Thursday in a statement.

Added Hart: "I instantly fell in love with this pitch about an everyday guy who is meeting his in-laws for the first time and unwittingly discovers his [father-in-law]-to-be is secretly a superhero."

Hart will be seen on the screen with Sony's Jumanji sequel
