Veteran actor Vidya Sinha passes away

Veteran actor Vidya Sinha, known for the films Rajnigandha, Chhoti Si Baat and Pati Patni Aur Woh, passed away aged 71 in Mumbai. She was suffering from lung and heart disorders and was admitted to Criticare Hospital since last month. The actor was kept on a PAP (Positive Airway Pressure) ventilator in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit), reports claim. 

Vidya Sinha made her acting debut in Raja Kaka (1974). The same year, she was seen opposite Amol Palekar in Basu Chatterjee’s Rajnigandha. The film became a hit, and Vidya reunited with Basu Chatterjee on Chhoti Si Baat (1975). Other significant films of the actor were Inkaar, Karm, Meera and Love Story. She took a hiatus from films in 1986, and made her comeback in Salman Khan’s Bodyguard (2011), which became her last films. In recent years, Vidya had worked on the television shows Qubool Hai, Zindagi Wins, Ishq Ka Rang Safed, Chandra Nandini and Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala
