Ondalla Eradalla has won two awards at this year's National Awards - Best Child Artiste for Rohit which he shares with three other children and the Nargis Dutt Award for National Integration.

Talking to us, the film's director D Sathya Prakash says, "The entire team is proud and happy for our child artiste Rohit who has got the National award for his role as Sameera in Ondalla Eradalla. A huge round of thanks to his parents, who trusted us implicitly and left their child with us for four months."

On winning the Nargis Dutt Award for National Integration, the director recalled the difficulty he faced while writing the script. "I was trying to tell a social issue through the point of view of a child, who is a Muslim yet loves a cow. I made sure that there wasn't any kind of negativity about this topic. The entire team and I took a huge risk with this project which took us the best part of a year-and-a-half. Such kind of films wouldn't have been possible without producer Umapathy. That a commercial producer like him who believed in our script speaks volumes about him. I want to dedicate this award to my father."
