Team Comali removes scene mocking Rajini’s delayed political entry

CE Features

Producer Ishari Ganesh has agreed to remove the scene mocking delayed political entry of Rajinikanth in his upcoming production venture, Comali.

The team has decided to remove the scene after certain sections of the audience got offended by the scene in the trailer, which shows Jayam Ravi, who plays a coma patient, exclaim that he is still in 1996 on seeing the visual of Rajinikanth announcing his political entry in 2016. Offended fans of the Superstar started trending hashtags such as 'Naalaya Thamizhagam Rajini' and 'Boycott Comali', to show their condemnation.

Makkal Needhi Maiam President and actor Kamal Haasan also lent his support to Rajinikanth and spoke to the producer conveying his displeasure over the scene.

It may be noted that the Zee5 web series, Postman, which too had several scenes referring to Rajini's delayed political announcement, faced no form of opposition and remained unnoticed by the fans.

Comali, co-starring Kajal Aggarwal, Samyukta Hegde and Yogi Babu, will hit the screens on August 15.
