Kaappaan, Suriya's third collaboration with director KV Anand, sees yet another release date change. The film, which was scheduled for an August 30 release, has now been postponed to September 20.

With this change of date, the film has avoided a potential clash with Prabhas-starrer Saaho. As indicated, this is not the first time Kaappaan's release date has been changed. Earlier, the film, also starring Mohanlal, Arya, Sayyeshaa, Samuthirakani, and Boman Irani, was slated for release on Independence Day, alongside Jayam Ravi's Comali.

The Telugu version of the film, titled Bandobast, will also hit the screens on September 20. With music by Harris Jayaraj, Kaappaan is bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
