Sharwanand starts shooting for 96 remake

Sharwanand on Monday started shooting for his upcoming film, a remake of Tamil romance 96 in Kenya. C Prem Kumar, who directed the original is helming the remake, with Samantha Akkineni playing Trisha's role.

"Sharwa, . A montage song, akin to The Life of Ram from the original, is currently being shot in and around Kenya. This schedule is expected to be wrapped up by May 8. The next schedule, also involving Samantha, is scheduled to happen in Visakhapatnam. The final schedule will be shot in Hyderabad," reveals a source.

96 tells the story of long-lost lovers meeting after more than a decade. The Vijay Sethupathi-starrer, which received critical and commercial acclaim, is also being remade in Kannada as 99. Prem had earlier told us that he is not making any changes to the original and has retained Govind Vasantha and Mahendran Jayaraj as the film’s music composer and cinematographer for the Telugu version.
