Sai Pallavi and Rana Daggubati will soon be teaming up for an intense period-romance with political undertones, tentatively titled Virata Parvam 1992. Set in the backdrop of 1990s Telangana, the film is said to feature Sai Pallavi in her usual no-makeup look.

"The film, which is based on real-life incidents, discusses a variety of human rights-related issues hitherto not explored in Indian cinema. Sai Pallavi will be seen as a jilted lover and later as a Naxalite, while Rana plays a political leader. The script is filled with a lot of socio-political commentaries," says a source.

The film, which will be shot in Warangal, Karimnagar, Siddipet and other hamlets of Telangana, is scheduled to go on floors in June. Produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri and Suresh Babu, Virata Parvam 1992 also features Tabu, Priyamani, Zareena Wahab and Eeshwari Rao in pivotal roles.
