Biopic on Devineni Nehru launched

After Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga, yet another political leader’s story from Vijayawada is being documented into a film. Titled Devineni, the biopic that revolves around the life and times of late Devineni Nehru, a former minister and one of the prominent leaders of the coastal city, was launched on Wednesday in Prasad Labs. Veteran actor Jamuna has graced the event and switched on the camera, while producer C Kalyan snapped the clapboard and veteran journalist Vinayaka Rao directed the first shot. Starring Nandamuri Tarakaratna, Devineni marks the debut of Narra Siva Nageswara Rao (Siva Nagu) as the director..

“Devineni is set in 1977 and the story unfolds in Vijayawada. The principal shooting will begin on May 10 and we are planning to wrap up the film in an uninterrupted single schedule,” says Siva Nagu.

Besides Tarakaratna, a host of popular actors including Nagineedu, Nasser, Prudhvi and Annapurnamma among others will feature in prominent roles in the film. Produced by Ramu Rathod, Devineni is slated to release for Dasara.
