Shruti Haasan-Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Laabam goes on floors

This is the second time Jhananathan is directing Vijay Sethupathi after the 2015 social drama, Purampokku Engira Podhuvuduamai.

Shruti Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi will be seen together on screen for the first time in director SP Jhananathan's Laabam. The film had its official launch ceremony yesterday in Rajapalayam, Tamil Nadu. Also starring Kalaiyarasan and Jagapathi Babu, the film will be Shruti's return to the silver screen after 2017's Singam 3.

The Vedhalam actor took to social media to share her happiness by tweeting, "Excited to start a new film with one of my favourite actors ! Such a lovely team - positive, progressive and fun."

This is the second time Jhananathan is directing Vijay Sethupathi after the 2015 social drama, Purampokku Engira Podhuvuduamai.

Laabam is being produced under the Vijay Sethupathi Productions banner alongside 7 C S Entertainments. Last seen in Super Deluxe, the actor is awaiting the release of SU Arunkumar's Sindhubaadh in Tamil, and Marconi Mathai in Malayalam, his debut in the language.
