Following much speculation, Katrina Kaif has officially joined the cast of Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. She will be starring opposite Akshay Kumar for the first time in nine years. They have previously worked together on Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, Namastey London, Welcome and Singh is Kingg. 

Sooryavanshi stars Akshay in the role of Anti-Terrorism Squad chief Veer Sooryavanshi. The film is a spin-off of the Simmba and Singham franchises and the latest in Rohit’s ongoing cop universe. Co-produced by Dharma Productions and Rohit Shetty Picturez, Sooryavanshi is scheduled to release on Eid, 2020. Katrina and Akshay will start shooting for their portions later this summer. The film’s first schedule went on floors in Goa earlier this year. 

This is Katrina’s first collaboration with Rohit. The actor was previously seen in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer film Zero. Her upcoming release is the Salman Khan-starrer Bharat.
