Anand Shankar to direct Vijay Sethupathi?

CE Features

Speculations are rife that Vijay Sethupathi, who was last seen in Super Deluxe, will be teaming up with director Anand Shankar for a mega-budget project. The filmmaker, who debuted with the 2014 Vikram Prabhu-starrer, Arima Nambi, went on to direct Vikram in Iru Mugan (2016) and Vijay Devarakonda in the Tamil - Telugu bilingual, NOTA (2018).

A source close to the unit says that Anand had recently met Vijay Sethupathi and narrated a original script, which had impressed the actor. The source also adds that this project, if and when it materializes, will be produced by Shibu Thameens, who had earlier produced the director's Irumugan.

Vijay Sethupathi, meanwhile, continues to be one of the busiest actors in tinsel town with Tamil films like Maamanidhan, Sindhubaadh, and yet-to-be-titled projects with SP Jananathan and Vaalu fame Vijay Chander. The actor is set to make his Telugu and Malayalam debuts with Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa Narasimhaa Reddy, and Jayaram-starrer, Marconi Mathai respectively
