Priyanka Chopra and Mindy Kaling team up for Indian wedding comedy

Priyanka Chopra and Mindy Kaling are teaming up for an upcoming comedy on Indian weddings. Mindy, in addition to writing and directing the film, will also be sharing screen space with Priyanka in the film. The pitch for the collaboration was won by Universal Studios in an auction. The film, billed as a cross between Crazy Rich Asians and My Big Fat Greek Wedding, will be set in India and America. 

Confirming the development, Priyanka wrote, “Two women with a passion for telling good stories, just got the green light to their story their way. So proud of this incredible partnership with Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor! We are about to show you what it means to be modern, global, and Indian. See you at the cinema!”
