Filmmaker Vijay Kumar's debut film Uriyadi was lauded by the critics and audience alike for its making and the social message it carried. Two years after its release, Vijay Kumar is making a sequel to the action thriller, and it has been announced that Suriya will be producing this film under his 2D Entertainment banner.

Just like the first instalment, Vijay Kumar will be directing and playing the lead in the film, apart from co-producing it. A newcomer from Kerala called Viswamaya has been roped in to play the female lead. YouTube-fame Sudhakar will be playing an important role in the film along with Shankardas and Abbas who were part of Uriyadi

The music and camera of the film will be handled by Govind Vasantha of 96 fame and debutant Praveen Kumar, respectively. Filming begins on Thursday and it is scheduled to be shot in and around Tenkasi and Courtallam.
