Fresh from the success of Irumbuthirai, which recently celebrated its 100-day theatrical run, debutant director PS Mithran has another piece of good news to share. His next film will be with Sivakarthikeyan , and it will mark the actor's 15th film.

Speaking to us, the director says, "I've had a great relationship with Siva right from the time I made short films. In fact, he had acted in one of my short films way back in 2010-11. We were supposed to do a film together and discussed an idea in 2017 itself." However, due to shoot schedule conflicts the project did not materialise at the time. "When we met recently, we decided to move forward with the idea and I have a firmer grasp on the crux of the story right now. The film will be as commercial as Irumbuthirai and will again deal with a relevant social issue that has deeply affected me. I am currently writing the story and am looking forward to start shooting in 2019."

Irumbuthirai featured Vishal and Samantha in the lead and talked about identity theft in an increasingly technology driven world.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan, whose Seemaraja was released last week, has one film each with director Rajesh of Boss Engira Bhaskaran fame and Indru Netru Nalai-director R Ravikumar.
