Akshay Kumar unveils Kesari poster

The film is based on the Battle of Saragarhi

Akshay Kumar, who's riding high on the success of Gold, shared the first poster of his upcoming film, Kesari, yesterday. The film is based on the Battle of Saragarhi in which 21 Sikhs fought against 10,000 Afghans in 1897.

Akshay shared the poster on his Instagram account to commemorate the anniversary of the Saragarhi battle. The poster features the actor in a khaki uniform, sporting a long beard and a turban, along with 20 other artists in the same attire. Akshay plays Havildar Ishar Singh, the leader of the Sikh warriors who chose to fight to the death against the Afghans.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Kesari is scheduled to hit the screens on March 21, 2019.
