Two-time Academy Award winner  Denzel Washington's The Equalizer 2 is set for release in India on September 21. The film is a sequel to 2014's The Equalizer, which was based on a TV series of the same name. 

Denzel Washington reprises the role of Robert McCall, a retired US Marine and ex-DIA agent with a soft heart and this time around, McCall's past cuts especially close to home when thugs kill Susan Plummer - his best friend and former colleague. 

Also starring Pedro Pascal, Ashton Sanders, Melissa Leo and Bill Pullman, The Equalizer 2 marks the fourth collaboration between Washington and director Antoine Fuqua following Training Day, The Equalizer and The Magnificent Seven. Incidentally, this is the first time the actor has starred in a sequel to one of his own films
