Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming biggie with Karthik Subbaraj has been titled Petta. The announcement was made by Sun Pictures through their official Twitter account. The producers also released a one-minute motion poster set in a church. With papers and compasses flying around, it looks like Rajini plays a teacher in a convent. An animated version of the actor also makes an entrance in an uber-stylish avatar.

Apart from Rajinikanth, the film also boasts of a huge star cast that comprises Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Simran, Trisha, Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Sananth, and Megha Akash. Petta will have music by Anirudh Ravichander with lyrics by Viveka. Peter Hein has been brought on board for the stunts.

The film has been shot in Darjeeling and Dehradun. It is also said that an expansive set has been constructed for the climax in Chennai. This will be Rajinikanth’s 165th film.
