Henry Cavill to star in Netflix's The Witcher series

The actor is best known for his roles in the DCEU as Superman and in Mission: Impossible - Fallout as August Walker

Super Man actor Henry Cavill, who was last seen in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, will play the lead role in the upcoming Netflix series based on the bestselling fantasy series, The Witcher.

The series, which marks Cavill’s return to small screen after the 2010 historical drama series, The Tudors, will consist of eight episodes, with the first episode and three others directed by Alik Sakharov, and the remaining directed by filmmakers Alex Garcia Lopez and Charlotte Brändström. Sakharov will also be the executive producer of the series.

The Witcher, written by Andrzej Sapkowski, began as a series of short stories published in the 1980s. The last novel of the series, Season of Storms, was published in 2013. The series has previously been adapted into video games and comic books.

Meanwhile, Henry Cavill also has the psychological thriller, Nomis alongside Alexandra Daddario and Ben Kingsley, in the pipeline.
