Siddharth’s next to be a rural family drama

Siddharth’s next film will be a rural family drama directed by debutant Maria, an erstwhile associate of director Balaji Tharaneetharan. Talking about the film, Maria says, “It is a dramedy set in a rural background. Since we generally don’t see Siddharth in rural avatars, it is an opportunity to see him in a different light.”

The film will have music by Govind Vasantha, whose work in 96 has been fetching rave reviews ever since its release. Maria says his long association with the Thaikkudam Bridge frontman made him opt for the composer. “I've known Govind right from our Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom days. He is a hard worker and extremely approachable. He is a very comfortable person to work with.”

Meanwhile, Siddharth also has a Netflix series with Deepa Mehta and a film with director Sasi, co-starring GV Prakash Kumar, in the pipeline.
