Dhanush, who launched his second directorial in September, recently completed shooting the first schedule of the film in Madurai. The Sri Thenandal Films production, which is being shot as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual, has an ensemble cast that includes Nagarjuna, Aditi Rao Hydari, SJ Suryah, Sarath Kumar, and Srikanth.

An update about the film, touted to be a period-fantasy, came on Saturday from actor Prasanna, who spoke about its album on the occasion of music director Sean Roldan's live concert. Prasanna, who was part of Dhanush's first directorial, Pa Pandi, mentioned that he had already heard three songs composed by Sean Roldan for the film. "I'm pretty sure that two of the songs will give the audience goosebumps. I hope he will soon compose and sing for one of my films," said the actor.

The film, whose next schedule is set to begin in the second week of November, is said to feature Nagarjuna as a man from the 15th century.
