The first look of Karthi's next film, Dev, was released today by his brother, Suriya, on social media. The poster of Rajath Ravishankar's directorial debut has Karthi looking menacing and standing next to a high-end sports bike. 

In a statement, the director said that the title of the film was inspired from his favourite cricketer Kapil Dev. The film reunites Karthi with his Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru co-star, Rakul Preet Singh.

While Prakash Raj plays Karthi's father, Ramya Krishnan plays Rakul Preet's mother in the film that also has Karthik and Nikki Galrani making special appearances.  

Calling Dev a 'film filled with elements that will be enjoyed by youngsters', Rajath says Harris Jayaraj agreed to compose the music for the film as soon as he heard the narration. Dev will see cinematographer Velraj reuniting with Karthi for the second consecutive time after Kadaikutty Singam. S Lakshman of Prince Pictures is bankrolling the film, which is in the final stages of production.
