Multi-starrer Ranam, directed by V Samudra, is now in the last leg of shooting. Made under RS Productions, the film’s team has supposedly approached Bollywood actor, Arbaaz Khan, for an extended cameo. This is in addition to Chetan and Chiranjeevi Sarja in the lead.

Producer RS Srinivas says, "Yes, we are keen to have Arbaaz Khan for this particular role. After another round of discussion, we are expecting a green signal from the actor, following which we will make an official announcement." If this does materialise, it will mark Arbaaz’s debut in Kannada.

In Ranam, Chetan is essaying the role of a revolutionist, and Chiranjeevi plays a police officer. Nithu Gowda is also part of the cast. Gurukiran is scoring the music, while Niranjan Babu is the film's cinematographer.

The bilingual film, being made in Kannada and Telugu, has director Samudra making his directorial debut in Kannada. Meanwhile, the Telugu version features artistes from their own region.
