Sudani from Nigeria, Ee Ma Yau in competition at IFFK

The 23rd International Film Festival of Kerala, organised by the Kerala Chalachitra Academy, is on the way. Two Malayalam films, Zakariya's Sudani from Nigeria and Lijo Jose Pellissery's Ee Ma Yau, have been selected in the competition section. The event will run from Dec 7 to 13. 

A total of 14 films have been selected in the 'Malayalam Cinema Today' section, of which 10 are directed by newcomers. PK Bijukuttan's Oath, Soubin Shahir's Parava, Jayaraj's Bhayanakam, Unnikrishnan Aavala's Udalazham, Aashiq Abu's Mayanadhi, Vinu AK's Bilathikkuzhal, Vipin Vijay's Prathibhasam, B Ajithkumar's Eeda, Binu Bhasker's Kottayam, Sumesh Lal's Humans of Someone, Gautham Surya's Sleeplessly Yours, and Vipin Radhakrishnan's Ave Maria are the films selected.

A jury comprising director Sibi Malayil, George Kithu, Farook Abdul Rahiman, Dr T Anithakumari and Dr V Mohanakrishnan made the selections.

The delegate registration will begin on November 1. The offline registration will be done through the Academy's regional branches located in Kannur, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram. A total of 500 passes will be given out through each centre. Out of these, 200 passes are reserved for citizens aged above 50. 

The online registrations will begin on November 10. Free passes are not available. The delegate fee is Rs 2000. Students can get the passes for half the fee.
