#MeToo begins in Kerala? Actor Mukesh called out

CE Features

In what looks like the beginning of the #MeToo movement in Kerala, a female casting director called Tess Joseph has come out on Twitter alleging that Malayalam actor and CPI (M) MLA Mukesh made her uncomfortable 19 years ago.

In a Twitter post, she wrote that she was a 20-year-old when she worked on a quiz show called Kodeeswaran hosted by Mukesh, and that later she got multiple calls to her room from him. The actor later got her room shifted to be next to his, says Tess. She also added that she thanked her then boss Derek O'Brien for getting her out on the next flight.

Mukesh, however, has denied the allegations saying that he neither remembers the incident nor anyone called Tess Joseph.

Tess also posted a second tweet accusing the Le Meridien branch in Chennai for being 'enablers' when she asked why her room was changed.
