Veteran director Mahendran is the latest to join Petta’s ensemble cast. Mahendran’s son John confirmed the same by tweeting a picture of the announcement. Mahendran will be joining a cast that comprises Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Trisha, Sasikumar, Bobby Simhaa, Sananth Reddy, and Megha Akash. The cast and crew is currently shooting at Varanasi.

The Karthik Subbaraj directorial will have music by Anirudh Ravichander. Petta is being produced by Sun Pictures and is touted to hit the screens for Pongal 2019. Several photos and videos leaked from the Petta shooting spot recently, prompting Karthik to take to social media to slam people who were propagating the content.
