Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who was previously reported to be teaming up with Suriya for a 'supernatural action-thriller' based on the comic book, Irumbu Kai Maayavi, has now joined hands with the actor's brother, Karthi, for a new film to be bankrolled by SR Prabhu under his Dream Warrior Pictures banner.

Sources close to the unit have stated that the Maanagaram director's film with Karthi will not be based on Irumbu Kai Maayavi, but will instead have a fresh script. Karthi, who is currently awaiting the release of debutant Rajat Ravishankar's Dev, alongside his Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru co-star Rakul Preet, is expected to start shooting soon for the yet-to-be-titled film.

While the makers are yet to make an official announcement about the film's principal cast and crew, reports suggest that it will have music by Sam CS.
