Madhuri Dixit Nene has been roped in to voice Nisha, the wolf mother of Mowgli, for the Hindi-dubbed version of the Netflix film, Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle.

“It’s an amazing experience for any actor to bring a character to life by just lending his/her voice. I watch a lot of VFX-rich adventure films with my sons, and have always wanted to lend my voice to such characters. I’m thrilled to finally get a chance to do this. To top it all, when I told my son about this, he got so excited and his reaction totally made my day,” the Gulaab Gang actor said in a statement.

Madhuri joins a Hindi voice cast that includes Abishek Bachchan as Bagheera, Anil Kapoor as Baloo, Jackie Shroff as Shere Khan and Kareena Kapoor as Kaa. Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle is a CGI live-action Netflix Original film that is based on Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. It will be released worldwide on the streaming platform on December 7.
