Mari Selvaraj, who directed the critically and commercially successful Pariyerum Perumal, will next be working with Dhanush. The actor took to Twitter to confirm the news. He said, "Finally watched Pariyerum Perumal. Mind blown. The rawness and lifestyle shown are so real (that) it feels (like) you are there. Congrats to the entire team. Also would like to announce (that) director Mari Selvaraj will be doing his next film with me under Vcreations. So excited to work with a talent like him."

When we reached out to the director, he said that it will be lifestyle film on the lines of Pariyerum Perumal. "I narrated the story and Dhanush liked it a lot. Rest of the processes are now underway." Kalaipuli Thanu's last production was 60 Vayadu Maaniram while Dhanush is currently awaiting the release of Maari 2, scheduled to release on December 21.
