Kamal Haasan, on Deepavali, revealed the first look of his next production, starring Vikram and directed by Thoongavanam-director Rajesh M Selva. Titled Kadaram Kondan, the film also stars Akshara Haasan, and has music by Ghibran.

The first look has a heavily-tattooed and handcuffed Vikram, sporting stylish glasses and a zany hairdo. With the Petronas Tower in Malaysia being highlighted in the background of the poster, it can be assumed that the film will be set in the Asian country. Kadaram Kondan is also said to refer to King Rajendra Chola, who was bestowed this title after he conquered Kadaram, the modern day city of Kedah in Malaysia.

After Kadamai Kanniyam Kattupadu (1987) and Nala Damayanthi (2003), this will be only the third time Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal International is producing a film with another actor in the lead.
