Manisha Koirala to play Sanjay Dutt's wife in Prasthaanam

The two actors first acted together in 1992's Yalgaar

Sanjay Dutt’s Productions's next, the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit film Prasthaanam, is all set to bring back the successful pair of Sanjay Dutt and Manisha Koirala after 10 years.

The original film created a lot of buzz in the Telugu industry and went on to become a super-hit, which won several awards as well. The remake of the intense family drama, also called Prasthaanam, will star Sanjay in one of the lead roles, with Manisha playing his wife.

The two actors first acted together in 1992's Yalgaar. Following this, through their career they have worked on various successful films together.

Prasthaanam's director Deva Katta, who also directed the original, says, "Each character in the film has a very strong role to play, so we needed actors of a certain calibre. When the team came up with the idea to cast Manisha Koirala as Sanjay Dutt's wife, it was a perfect match in my mind. I am looking forward to directing them."

Prasthaanam will go on floors on June 1 and will be extensively shot in Lucknow. The film also stars Ali Fazal and Amyra Dastur.
