Sanjay Dutt's next production to kickstart on Nargis' birthday

The actor's new production venture is an official remake of the Telugu hit Prasthaanam

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has also produced films such as Shortkut and Rascals. The actor's Sanjay Dutt's Productions will now produce the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit, Prasthaanam, under the same name. The film will go on floors on June 1, which happens to be the Sanjay's mother and legendary actor, Nargis' birthday. Sources close to the actor state that Sanjay, who plays one of the lead roles in the film, was keen on starting this new venture on the day of his mother's birth. 

A family drama with a political backdrop, Prasthaanam will be shot in Lucknow. The film also stars Ali Fazal and Amyra Dastur. Deva Katta, who directed the original film, will also helm the remake. 

It is worth noting that Sanjay is back to production after a hiatus of seven years. Meanwhile, on the acting front, he has Torbaaz, Kalank, and Panipat in various stages of production.
