The first look poster of the Rahat Kazmi-directorial based on Ismat Chugtai's most celebrated and controversial story Lihaaf (The Quilt) was launched in Cannes Film Festival at India Pavilion earlier this week. Oscar-winning producer of No Man's Land, Marc Baschet has joined hands with Indian producers to co-produce the film. Commenting on his new venture, he said, “I am very happy to be part of a film with such a strong theme with universal appeal."

Lihaaf (The Quilt) deals with the emotional and physical relationship of a neglected woman with her lady masseur from a suffocating feudal environment as seen through the eyes of a teenager. The film stars Tanishta Chatterjee, Sonal Sehgal, Namita Lal and Mir Sarwar in the lead roles.
