The remake of Manju Warrier-starrer Mohanlal is being planned in one or more South Indian languages, according to director Sajid Yahiya.

While nothing has been confirmed so far, Sajid mentions having discussions with producers from Tamil cinema. "We have decided to invite them to a preview screening and only after they've seen the film can we confirm the rest of the details."

Sajid also goes on to clarify about the reports that Jyotika will be playing the lead in the Tamil remake. "Such reports are merely speculations. Someone posted this news on social media and we had to take it down. But given that the film's concept is a universal one, we thought it would be a good idea to have discussions with filmmakers from other regions. This story can be placed anywhere. As of now, it's only being planned in Tamil", adds the director.
