With Ramzan and Eid around the corner, the release dates of few Malayalam films are being postponed. Among them are Kuttanpillayude Sivarathri and Theevandi, whose makers have confirmed the new release dates.

Kuttanpillayude Sivarathri, which was supposed to be released on May 4, will now be out on May 11. Directed by Jean Markose, the film stars Suraj Venjaramoodu as a cantankerous middle-aged police constable who has to deal with a group of relatives gathering at his home for sivarathri. Suraj recently said in an interview that the film will have adequate humour and will feature him in a never-before-seen avatar.

Theevandi, which was also scheduled for release on May 4, will now hit the screens on June 15. The film has been described as a light-hearted political satire with Tovino Thomas starring as an unemployed chain-smoker. Debutant Samyukta Menon plays a village officer who falls in love with Tovino's character.
