The Villain gets a release date

A Sharadhaa

After months of anticipation, director Prem has finally set a release date for the Shivarajkumar and Sudeep-starrer, The Villain. He plans to release the film on August 24, on Varamahalakshmi festival. The film is now in the post-production stage, and the latest update is that dubbing has begun for The Villain. Sudeep, we were told, started dubbing yesterday evening, and spent the entire night at the studio to finish his portions by this afternoon. With dubbing taking place at two studios--Balaji and Akash--several artistes are simultaneously engaged in dubbing their portions. Shivarajkumar will join them soon as well.

Even though the shooting got delayed due to unavoidable circumstances, Prem is going all out to ensure that the release happens smoothly. He just has one song left to shoot, which he is planning to do once Amy Jacksonarrives.

The director is currently completely involved in the post-production work, including overlooking the CG department. He is said to be waiting for the elections to be over to release the film’s teaser. Following that will be the audio release, which he is planning for June.

The Villain, produced by CR Manohar under Tanvi Productions, features Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty and Telugu actor Srikanth, among others. The film has music by Arjun Janya and cinematography by Gire.
