Akshara Gowda joins Kizhakku Africavil Raju

The animated film is a sequel to MGR's Ulagam Suttrum Vaaliban

CE Features

Arrambam-fame Akshara Gowda is on board for the animated MGR film, Kizhakku Africavil Raju

A source close to the actor tells CE, "Akshara was in talks with the production house (Prabhudheva Studios) for two projects, and they eventually expressed interest in roping her in for this one. She'll be shooting for a day." The source adds, "Being a part of a motion capture film is a dream come true for her."

Kizhakku Africavil Raju was supposed to be a sequel to MGR’s iconic film, Ulagam Suttrum Vaaliban. However the project didn't materialise while the veteran actor was alive.

Written and directed by M Arulmurthy, the upcoming film will feature the late actor in an animated avatar. It will have lyrics by Vairamuthu and music by D Imman.

We hear the team is working to get the film out by January 17, 2019 -- the birth anniversary of MGR
