Director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s controversial Malayalam film, S Durga, which has regularly been in the headlines, will finally be released nationwide on April 6. Formerly titled Sexy Durga, the film won many accolades at international film festivals.

In a statement released by the director, he says, “Feeling great. Now that the controversy and hardships are over, it is time for people to watch the film and see what the reason for the unwanted controversies was. I request all the people who opposed and who really supported unconditionally to watch the film.”

Featuring Rajashri Deshpande, in the titular role, the film also stars Kannan Nayar, Sujeesh KS, and Baiju Netto.
