With the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council (TFPC) shutting down shoots and post-production work from last Friday, the week-long meeting that TFPC President Vishal has been having with different stakeholders is being watched keenly. The latest update is that Vishal met with theatre owners, distributors and producers in a joint committee meeting and the agenda on the table was computerisation of ticketing and abolition of VPF charges. He welcomed the presence of Simbu in the meet and pointed out that Simbu had suggested that transparency was the need of the hour. In that vein, he pointed out that if exhibitors wanted transparency in actors' salaries, there should be a similar transparency in ticketing too. Vishal added that this strike should instead be called a revamp because only if producers are taken care of, will good films get made. Vishal also said that it has been clearly communicated that the producers will only pay for mastering from now and there will be no more VPF charges. 

Theatre owners have now asked for 48 hours time to discuss the issue and come to a decision. Vishal says there will be no more conversations between DSPs and producers and the ball is firmly in the court of theatre owners now. The actor will be meeting with cinematographers and the Nadigar Sangam in the next two days.
