Music composer Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in for Rajinikanth's film directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film's production house, Sun Pictures, broke the news on its official Twitter handle today.

This will be the first collaboration of Anirudh with both Karthik Subbaraj and his uncle, Rajinikanth. Speculations are rife that the composer, who started the year with Suriya's Thaana Serndha Kootam, is also likely to compose for Kamal Hassan's Indian 2.

Reacting to the announcement Anirudh tweeted:

According to a reliable source, the film will be a political thriller relevant to the current political scenario. The source also added that the film will be a modern-day retelling of the story of Bhishma from Mahabharatha
