Director Puri Jagannadh has revisited the reincarnation formula with his upcoming Mehbooba, an intense love story which marks the debut of his son Akash as the hero.

A source in the know says, the film revolves around an Indian boy and a Pakistani girl, who fall in love during the latter’s visit to India. But before their relationship blossoms, the duo die in a war. Besides the reincarnation theme, the film also depicts the border tension during the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971, and is apparently loaded with all the usual commercial ingredients.

Produced under Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies, the film was shot in Punjab, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. Sandeep Chowta has scored the music for the film, which also marks the debut of Neha Shetty in Telugu.
