Cheran’s next directorial to star Thambi Ramaiah’s son

The film will go on floors from July 13

Drector-turned-actor Thambi Ramaiah is returning to direction with Maniyar Kudumbam. The film starring his son Umapathy had its audio launch yesterday which was attended by many well-known film personalities including actor-director Cheran. While speaking, Cheran announced that his next directorial venture will star Umapathy in the lead. Speaking to CE about the film, Umapathy, who debuted with Adhagappattathu Magajanangalay last year, says, “The film will be a family drama similar to Maniyar Kudumbam. It also stars Sukanya, MS Bhaskar and my father. I will be playing an RJ in the film and the rest of the cast and crew details are yet to be decided. The film will go on floors from July 13th and it will be shot predominantly in Coimbatore.”

Meanwhile, Cheran has Rajavukku Check in the pipeline in which he returns to acting after 2013’s Moondru Per Moondru Kaadhal.
