Salman Khan is all set to reprise his role as Inspector Pandey - one of his most beloved characters - in the third instalment of the Dabangg franchise. Dabangg 3, whose plot is inspired by a real-life cop in Noida, will be directed by Prabhu Dheva.

The film will be shot in the NCR, which will make it the first film in the franchise to be shot in North India. Sources say that the city will be treated like a character in the film. While Sonakshi Sinha will be reprising her role as Rajjo, Dabangg 3 may also mark the Bollywood debut of ace filmmaker-actor Mahesh Manjrekar's daughter Ashwami Manjrekar. The makers are reportedly looking to cast a fresh face in the antagonist role, though other sources suggest that Salman's Race 3 co-star Saqib Saleem is being considered.

The film, which goes on floors on September 16, is expected to get a release towards the end of 2019.
