Suriya’s NGK, directed by Selvaraghavan, which was launched in February (this year) will hit the screens for Diwali. The filmmaker announced this on Twitter, by tweeting, “Lights on for a long schedule from today. Lights on for Diwali. NGK Fire.”

According to sources, the film is in its final leg of shooting, and the makers are expected to finish work this month. Rumours suggest that the film could be a political drama with a communist slant and Suriya may play a leader. Earlier, it was said that NGK stands for Nanda Gopalan Kumaran, and we hear that NGK is the name of Suriya’s character. However, there is no official confirmation of this.

The first look poster of the film had Suriya sporting coolers, a thick beard and a cap, and resembling Che Guevara. Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, NGK, which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, features Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet as the female leads.
