Kishore, who won the National Award for Pasanga, will play the lead in Lakshmy Ramakrishnan’s next directorial venture. He tells CE, “It’s a heartwarming love story and I really liked the outline when she had pitched the idea. We’ll be shooting the first schedule in Kerala later this month. I’ve had screen tests and so on, but I’ve been instructed not to reveal much. I play Vasu, and I am paired opposite Lovelyn, daughter of Viji Chandrasekhar. Lakshmy’s focus is on giving quality films, and I am confident that this will be an important project in my career.”

Kishore’s last release was Uruthikol, and he has Sagaa in the pipeline. “I am serious about films, and I don’t want to do too many. I discontinued my college education around 2012 and want to equip myself more before I accept responsible projects. I want to do films akin to those Ranveer Singh does in Bollywood.”

He adds, “People still see me as a child artiste because I made my debut with Pasanga. That has worked out both to my advantage and disadvantage. Familiarity is a huge plus point. But downside is that, they haven’t realised that I am grown up, and I can also pull off lead characters.”
