Naveen Chandra bags a role in Anjali’s Geetanjali 2

Directed by Indo-American filmmaker Subbu Vedula, the sequel to 2014's Geethanjali is expected to go on floors next month

Anjali made a lasting impression on the minds of the audience with Geethanjali (2014). The idea of a sequel for this film has been in discussions for some time now. Putting an end to the speculations, the producers of the film, Kona Venkat and MVV Satyanarayana, have announced that their popular horror-comedy will get a long-awaited sequel.

To be directed by Indo-American independent filmmaker Subbu Vedula, the sequel, deemed to be a thriller-comedy, is titled Geetanjali 2. According to a source, actor Naveen Chandra has landed a crucial role in the film alongside Anjali.

“The film is getting a sequel soon and efforts are on to make it into a franchise. It’s a thriller-comedy and the team will begin the principal shooting in the last week of July in Hyderabad. Naveen Chandra will make a special appearance in a pivotal role. The makers were impressed with the idea narrated by Subbu and felt it would be the perfect follow up for the original,” says a source.
